US Suspends Processing of Nonimmigrant Visas in Turkey

The US Embassy in Ankara has announced that is suspending all non-immigrant visa
services at all U.S. diplomatic facilities in Turkey.
US Embassy in Turkey said that “Recent events have forced the United States Government to reassess the commitment of the Government of Turkey to the security of U.S. Mission facilities and personnel.” The recently released statement referred to the arrest of US consulate worker by the Turkish authorities.
Based on the statement, the Embassy is expected to continue the processing of all immigrant visas. There is also no indication that Turkish citizens would be prohibited from applying for non-immigrant visas at US consulates outside Turkey.
