Justices Refuse to Rehear Obama's Immigration Plan
October 5, 2016
The Supreme Court turned down a request from Obama's Administration to reconsider its decision on the expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA). The programs would have spared millions of undocumented immigrants from deportation.
The request to rehear the case follows a US Supreme Court issued a 4-4 decision back in June 24, 2016 which in place a lower court decision blocking Obama's immigration plan.
